Immaculate Heart of Mary Senior Ministry

Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church values our Senior Ministry. Our mission is to serve anyone 65 years of age or older who is working or retired, able or disabled, married or single, wealthy or poor, active, homebound, resides in assisted living or a nursing home. YOU are a very important part of our parish family. We believe that each life is a sacred gift from God. We respect and value the wisdom and experience older adults bring to our parish.

As Pastoral Minister to Seniors, I am dedicated to helping provide direction and support for your spiritual, emotional, social, physical well being.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like a visit or need assistance.
God bless you!

Debbie Gartner

Immaculate Heart of Mary’s Senior Ministry offers many different groups, activities, and services our members can participate in. The following are the different groups and services we offer:

Quilters -
Ladies who enjoy socializing while working on quilts. Some do embroidery and binding at home. All proceeds are donated to the parish. Meets every Tuesday following 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Sunshine Club -
Members who are 55 years or older who enjoy socializing with current and past parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary. Meetings are held every 2nd Monday of the month at 12 noon.

RENEW -
Ordinary people gather together to share their faith and lives. Small communities meet once a week during the fall and spring for six-week sessions.

Visitors to the Sick -
Individuals or families who want to support and befriend parishioners confined to their homes, in hospitals, or nursing homes.

Prayer Chain -
Volunteers who pray for the needs of parishioners and their families. Participants are notified of requests by phone. Seniors and homebound are encouraged to join our prayer chain

Prayer Shawl -
This ministry reaches out to those in need of comfort and support. Many blessings and prayers are knitted into every shawl. A knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed, it is offered a final blessing by the Pastor. Please call the Rectory If you are someone you would benefit from this ministry.

Minister to Household -
If you are need of this service, please contact Debbie for more info.

Social & Spiritual Event -
Volunteers partipaate through the South Grand Senior Ministry Network.
