Christian Formation Commission -

Plans, delegates or coordinates ways to help our parish grow spiritually; such as RENEW, parish missions and retreats, family and parenting programs, or even leaflets in the bulletins or books in back of church.


Immaculate Heart of Mary is part of the South City Deanery Parish School of Religion located at St. John the Baptist pa- rish (4170 Delor St). This program offers Catholic Education Formation Classes to children and young adults (pre- school through 12th grade) attending public, charter and private non-religious schools and children who are home-schooled.

Grade/age appropriate classes and Sacramental preparation groups generally meet once a week on Monday evenings beginning in mid-August running through May.

Volunteers are always needed to serve as teachers, teacher assistants and general program helpers.


Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)/Catechumen Program - Prepares unbaptized and those already baptized in another Christian Church to become full participating members of our Catholic Church. Volunteers are needed to act as sponsors, prayer-partners, or coordinators. Weekly meetings from September through May.  Anyone who wants to inquire about our Catholic Faith should contact one of the priests at anytime.


Ordinary people gather together to share their faith and lives. Small communities meet once a week during the fall and spring for six-week sessions.
